Paul’s idea worked on the last card I got; the bank has to be a Visa bank, but most are. I took it in and asked a teller to cash it. She had to get a manager to help figure it out, but it worked. If you don’t have an account there, I suppose they could give you some grief, but I have a checking account at this bank.

I have my rebate card and I just want to get the cash for it instead of using the card. I can take it to ANY bank and cash it? Or how does that work??

I don’t think you ever mentioned that the hard drive failed, we bought a new one, and shot (yes, shot, to anyone who’s seen this site) the old one. Speaking of that very notebook (It’s a notebook, not a laptop ) I’m using it right now. It’s an Inspiron 6000. Gary is my dad.

Best thing to do when you get one of these lame gift cards is run (I do mean run) to the nearest Citibank branch and get cash (“cash advance”) on the entire value of the card. Do not even mess with trying to use it in a store, etc. These cards have too many rules & restrictions.

I hate this whole process. I submitted my rebate three months ago…it got rejected twice…once sayin I didn’t put all the number on the form…which is a lie…an another time because they sent it to the wrong address !! Now they say they sent it on the 6th an its now the 22nd…an no card. I love how they have no prob takin money but such a prob with givin it back
