Periodic still alive post

So many of the things I’m into have dedicated social media platforms now. It seems like a different world than the one in which I started this blog. Goodreads for books, twitter for pointless updates to people I don’t know, Facebook for pointless updates for those I do.

Blogging was always this geeky thing that tech weirdos did. Now everyone’s doing it with Facebook.

Very true, but blogging still has its place. I’ve rediscovered my blog in the last couple of months. I’ve been posting to it slightly more regularly. It is MY place. Not a scrambled feed of advertisements and holiday photos. A place where few will come to read what I’ve posted and written, but those who do have common ground with me. I like that about a blog.

Welcome back, hope you plan to stay.

  2. Wow, someone’s reading this! 🙂 I agree. I suffer from a feeling that I need to write something of eternal significance, when in reality a lot of the value of doing this is really in being able to look back and see what you were thinking at the time. As for FB, yes, there’s a lot to dislike there, especially as the ads have crept in more and more.

  3. Still reading. And rediscovering, thanks to having to ditch Google reader. I’d like to be your friend on Goodreads!
